The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are actually open and will shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to fulfill the subsequent requirements:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home that has a combined gross home income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined home earnings doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and wish not submit any proof of earnings.

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or intend to study at a general public university or TVET college in South website Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and my nsfas TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
